BRING YOUR CLASS TO A PLAY

***Since local schools are on Christmas Break during our run of Elf, Jr., the usual “school shows” won’t be available.  HOWEVER, please check back on this page as we arrange for and announce other low-cost accomodations for our matinee shows.***

Through live theatre, students are encouraged to read, develop critical and creative thinking, and be curious about the world around them. Bringing your class to a Primary Players Children’s Theatre Group performance enhances and supports classroom curriculum and the invaluable skills that arts education gives our children. RESERVATIONS

School group shows are scheduled on the Thursday and Friday prior to our public performances at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  Many of our school group performances sell out quickly, so it is advisable to make reservations early. Contact us at PrimaryPlayers.TN@gmail.com to request more information.

CONFIRMATION

Once your reservation is received and processed, we will send you an email with the performance date and time selected for your group. If you do NOT receive a confirmation within one week of placing your request, please contact us to confirm that your reservation has been received.

PAYMENT

Your invoice will be emailed to you approximately two months prior to your performance date. Your payment in full must be received no later than four weeks before the date you are scheduled to attend in order to hold your place. If you need to change your reservation or find you have circumstances that prevent you from paying on time, please email primaryplayers.tn@gmail.com BEFORE the payment due date.

Please make your check out to Primary Players Children’s Theatre Group and mail to 704 Haig St., Maryville, TN 37801. We cannot decrease your reservation count after the payment deadline, and no refunds for unused tickets can be made after payment is received.

ADDITIONAL TICKETS

If you need extra seats for more chaperones or students, please email primaryplayers.tn@gmail.com and ask for availability. Please do not ask parents/chaperones to call as we do not sell single tickets to our student matinee performances.

For the safety and security of the students attending the matinees, no additional tickets may be purchased for any parent/chaperone without prior approval from the teacher or school staff member. For this reason, all increases to the ticket amount must come directly from the classroom teacher.

ARRIVAL TIME AND SEATING

Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your performance start time. You must arrive on time as late seating is not possible once the show starts. The performance start time can be found on your invoice. One teacher should check in with our School Show Coordinator upon arrival. At that time, please ask your entire group to follow our instructions so that we can get you seated as quickly and efficiently as possible. Following the show, remain seated until we release you by schools.

Please note: every group has a pre-assigned seating location, so you must wait to be seated by an usher. Seats are assigned based on the age of the students attending, the size of  your group, and with any special needs taken into consideration. If your group has wheelchairs or special needs, please notify us at least one week prior to your performance date.

LENGTH OF SHOW

Our shows are usually a little over one hour long and do not usually include an intermission.

TRANSPORTATION/PARKING

Our shows are presented at the Clayton Center for the Arts at 502 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, TN 37804.

SECURITY AND OTHER POLICIES

Please encourage your students to leave iPods, cameras, and other valuables on the bus or at school.

Please do not bring food or beverages inside the theatre.

There is no photography or videography of any kind allowed inside the theatre at any time. Please feel free to take field trip photos in the lobby or outside, but all cameras and recording devices must be put away when you go inside the theatre.

The safety and security of the students attending our school matinees is very important. For this reason, specific show information (e.g. length, time, date, etc.) pertaining to a school field trip will only be given to the teacher or school staff member/representative coordinating the field trip. If you are a parent or guardian wishing to find out more information regarding your child’s field trip, please contact the school directly. Additionally, students will not be released to anyone other than the teacher or chaperone accompanying the class without the teacher’s knowledge or approval. Should a parent or guardian need to pick up a child directly from the theatre for any reason, please notify the school and make arrangements with the teacher or faculty member in charge.
